This year's Rising event marks our eighth anniversary of the launch of A Realm Reborn! As a famous character once said (?) "Such celebration... This was my intention!" Let's dive into it!

Here we have a new fireworks item! The static image doesn't do these amazing firework effects justice, but trust me, the visuals are delightful! I'll probably end up purchasing at least 2-3 stacks of them to use in the future. I still have all the stacks of Realm Reborn Red from seven years ago. Maybe they taste better aged? How much of the drink is left after you pop the top so vigorously anyway? I'll have to test it out IRL one of these days.

Wholesome Memory I will treasure for probably the rest of my life.
So start off, I’m a new player who have played free trail before but never finished, recently got back into this game due to Asmongold, bought the full game last week.
And here’s the story, so I was playing MSQ and leveling up yesterday, and I came across Haukke Manor. After a while I finally joined a game, two sprouts including me while there’s a dark knight and a mage dps which was probably a summoner?
And we got to the point where you’re supposed to teleport back to the start to go up the stairs right? But obviously me and the other sprouts healer didn’t know that so we tried to just walk back, which both of us ended up dying in the process. So we’re back at the start after being informed we should’ve teleported back, and suddenly the healer just left!
No one said a word and we continue to fight the boss, not knowing the mechanics plus a missing healer resulted in a wipe first try, so I asked “What now?” when the team noticed the missing healer, and the tank replied “If you guys focus the lanterns we can do this”.
So we start round two, each time the lanterns light up we run straight to it while he keeps tanking the boss, and after a while the boss got really low, but then the tank falls and all I see in chat was “Do it!”, so I clench my fists and keep punching, with my health nearly gone I finally killed it, I cheered out loud while they were also cheering in chat, I was so happy.
Who ever Ink Snail is, I love you man, this might just be a small quest in your play through, but as a new MMO player, a new FFXIV player this is the best experience I could’ve ever imagined, thank you and also the other mage who’s name I sadly forgot.

Adventures in Eorzea:
Trapped in the dungeon, couldn't figure out how to exit lol
Couldn't remember how to exit the dungeon because the last time i was in a dungeon I was so flustered from my stressful healing situation !
I looked everywhere and ran around the dungeon looking for a portal. I searched around my ui and all of my menus looking for an option to drop party like I could in Wow….but nope! I finally decided to ask in my Free Company Chat , and thankfully they saw my plea for help and told me that the exit was a small portal with the word “exit” above the portal that was near the last treasure chest!!!

I also learned that when selecting your roll for loot you have to select the loot and then choose your roll. I wondered why gear kept adding up in the box everytime I chose greed and it would yell at me something like YOU ALREADY HAVE A Bla Blah Blah quality item in that slot. I would look and it was lying to me! I was like IM LOOKING AT MY JANK GEAR . I know what I have! Then I thought to click on the gear and select my roll choice and vuala! It worked lol Sheesh!

Mentor System and Novice Network
Mentor System and Novice Network provides more experienced players a means to offer advice and guidance to newer players.
Mentor System was introduced in patch 3.2.
To facilitate their assistance, mentors will gain access to a special chat channel as well as a means to easily register for duties and trials with new players.
As a mentor you are expected to actively perform the following:
Provide gameplay advice for new adventurers and other players.
Be an example for player etiquette.
Invite new adventurers to the Novice Network and answer their questions in the chat channel.
Mentor Requirements
To qualify to become a mentor, players must first have earned certain achievements. There are two sets of prerequisites: one for Disciples of War and Magic (Battle Mentor), and one for Disciples of the Hand and Land (Trade Mentor). After earning the required achievements for either set, speak with one of the Smiths to become a mentor.
Novice Network
Upon becoming a mentor, you can gain access to the Novice Network by typing in the command /network on.
The Novice Network is a chat channel where new adventurers can seek the advice of veteran players.
The "New Adventurer" status is applied to all players who have less than 168 hours of play time and have not completed the quest A Requiem for Heroes, unless they have toggled this status off by using the command /nastatus.
When chatting via the Novice Network, an icon will appear next to your character name to indicate whether you are a mentor or a new adventurer.
Returner - players who have not played the game in 45 days or more and have at least one class or job at level 50 or above will receive the Returner status and be able to join Novice Network.
Using the Novice Network
Depending on whether you are a mentor or a new adventurer, you can gain access to the Novice Network via one of two ways.
Mentors are automatically added to this channel upon logging in or changing areas.
New adventurers must be invited by a mentor.
Mentors can access the Novice Network regardless of their online status.
The display of the Novice Network chat log can be enabled or disabled via the Log Filters setting under the General tab of Log Window Settings in the Character Configuration interface.
New adventurers will automatically have their chat mode set to Novice Network when they join the channel.
After joining the Novice Network, new adventurers will receive a unique online status icon, which can be seen in the following windows:
The Party Members, Friend List, and Player Search tabs of the Social interface.
The Members list of the Free Company interface.
The Linkshells interface.
Novice Network Capacity
The Novice Network can accommodate up to 100 mentors and 412 new adventurers, for a combined total of 512 players.
New adventurers must receive an invitation from mentors in order to access the Novice Network.
Once invited, new adventurers will be added to the Novice Network automatically when logging in or changing areas provided that a space is available.
Space must be available at the time a mentor invites a new adventurer to join the Novice Network.
Viewing Novice Network Participants
Selecting the sprout icon next to the log window will display a list of all mentors and new adventurers currently participating in the Novice Network.
Removing Players from the Novice Network
In cases of spamming or harassment, a mentor can kick another mentor or a new adventurer from the Novice Network channel. Kicked mentors cannot return for three hours, and kicked new adventurers for thirty minutes.
Please be advised that, in doing so, your name, the name of the player being kicked, and the reason will be displayed to everyone on the channel.
Customer support will be notified when a player is removed from the Novice Network.
If your decision to kick a player from the channel was found to be inappropriate then you may face punishment.
Mentor privileges may be revoked for repeated infractions.

Minimise the risk of your account being compromised: Use a strong & unique password, enable one-time password (OTP), don't share your account details.
Read our security wiki page for much more information. Free teleports: Enabling OTP will not only help to protect your account but it'll also allow you to set a free teleport destination!
In order to use the One-Time Password system to increase your account security you will need a key ring style Security Token, the Square Enix software token app for smartphones, or a software authenticator such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

To all you #FFXIV players who don't know this already, but when you get to Active Time Maneuvers that require you to spam the button to pass?
You can use your keyboard to mash instead of spam clicking the mouse on the lil button!
Sharing this here because the group I had earlier for The Seat of Sacrifice didn't know that.
And I wasn't told about it till the first time I ran it as well, so I want to share the knowledge and stress people out less cause mouse clicking? Hella stress.
