A message to all the sprouts out there that likes to watch cutscenes

[Discussion]

This is specifically for cutscenes in dungeons.

I know it has been mentioned many times but you are more than entitled to watch all the cut scenes in dungeons. Most veteran players would even encourage you to do so and it really is no big deal for people to wait a couple more seconds before pulling the boss. Don't feel pressured.

But I also have to remind you that while most of the community are nice and welcoming, you will find some impatient A-holes on your journey that might affect your overall experience. It is most noticeable in 24man rain contents and surprisingly it is always one impatient DPS that pulls the bosses instead of tank/healers even when they know multiple new players are watching cutscenes.

Bottom line is , watch your cutscenes. They are one of the many things that make the game as enjoyable as it can be, or find alternate ways of rewatching them if you had to stop because some idiot pulled the boss.

Edit: Quick Note. There is an option in the settings where you can choose to auto skip cutscenes you already watched, instead of opting out of them manually. It will be less of a hassle in the long run as it skips the intro and end boss cut scenes after you already watched it once.

6year old post! Is it still accurate?

Any inn in a major city has a tome called "The Unending Journey" where you can rewatch cutscenes. You have to talk to the Innkeeper to enter the room, once there just head straight to the table. You'll find the Innkeeper in the "Adventurer's guild" in each Major City.

Asking for new player tips:

Whats the best way to find an FC?, personally I find it really chaotic right now (even using the ingame and the we tool). Personally I am looking for a casual, friendly one. In my case I am not into big raids or high end, I am more of a Frodo type, just the Journey .

As for getting a FC, many advertise publicly in shout in the game, but those can often be very big and crowded and run to more "Ask not can we do for you, what can you do for us" sort of mentality. Often the best thing to do is to just talk to people in game (as in, those just standing around in the cities but not shouting), as often they will be happy to invite you to a FC or linkshell (LS). Another way you could try is to check out the forum section for your server (in your case, Ragnarok), and have a look at FCs that are open to new invites, as you'll often find casual FCs in there -take note of their contact details and seek out their representative from there.

And there is nothing wrong with being a casual player and not wanting to rush to the end game - you are definitely right in that the journey is just as important as the destination!

So far I have learned:

  • That using dps meters like we did in Warcraft is actually against the FF14 Terms of Service. It is said that they look the other way if you are using them to better yourself, but if you start using them to dps shame others in the game publicly in the game you can possibly be banned.

  • We don't need to level individual characters, we can play one character and level the jobs independently.

Adventure:

  • The first character I made and played the most was my Lalafell

  • I started leveling the conjurer job not knowing it was a healer! I normally played  hunters in Warcraft so when it was following my main story quest line I was told to enter this thing called a duty to complete part of the quest.

  • I enter and it flashes up a box that shows me the role I was to be playing and it said I was a healer and my heart stop and I immediately got a lump in my stomach.

  • I made two characters on the Cactuar server before I knew we didn't really need alts then I did have to heart to pick which one i liked the best between my cat

  • So far my time in ff has been a lot of rewiring from playing World Of Warcraft for so many years!

  • I am thankful that the controls are pretty much the same.

What I've learned:
